If all goes well, I will be trading my SUV for a Blue 2005 Aveo tomorrow. Any tips on what I should look for, common problems, major issues? Any knowledge would be appreciated. How well are these cars standing up to age and milage? lots of reading to do here. Thanks again.

The biggest thing that I would look out for is the timing belt. I believe they recommend changing them every 50,000 miles. Depending on how many miles it has, I would ask if it has been done. The engines are close tolerance engines and if the belt breaks it can really mess up the engine. Mine broke and the pistons hit the bottom of the valve stems. I didn't have any engine damage. I had the head worked on, and put it back together. I have a 2005 with 156,000 miles and it still runs like new. It even still looked like new until my stepson's basketball hoop blew over in a windstorm and tit the driver's door. They are good cars. I change my oil religiously every 3000 miles. Do the same, and it will last you a really long time.

The deal is done, no more gas guzzler for me. I now own a 2005 Aveo 5 door. First order of business is to tint the windows, cant stand the look of clear windows.

Good deal. Congrats on your Aveo. I can't blame you for wanting the windows tinted. Seems like every vehicle that is behind me with their headlights on blinds me with them.

I trade a 1999 Dodge Durango, 9mpg. Swapped vehicles. He needed space, I needed economy.
