      Hey all..

Just thought I'd stop and say hi, since I took the time to register. Just bought a used 2008 Aveo5, 5 speed (Cosmic Silver would be the color, if Google didn't fail me) less than two weeks ago.. 22,XXX on the clock and paid $7,000. No pictures, but I'll see what I can't do once the rain clears up.

Joined up for general/tech information, and I might kick around the idea of making it look a little better down the road. I honestly really like the bodystyle and after checking through the picture area, some of you guys have some pretty nice looking rides. But, most of the mod money is budgeted for my '99 Cobra (flame suit on: I'm sure mentioning a Ford in an introductory post here is a borderline bannable offense, so I apologize in advance ).

As stated before, no huge plans. Tint (ASAP, I feel like I'm driving in a fish bowl), alarm/keyless entry, and some audio upgrades (nothing crazy, just enough to make the ride to work more enjoyable. I used to be a mobile installer in a previous life, and still love installing stuff when the opportunity/time presents it). Outside of that, some things that I can see myself possibly doing in the future are lowering springs and a conservative set of rims.

Anyways.. I think I covered the important bases!

      Welcome to the forum.

What made you decide to grab the Aveo? Something to commute in to preserve the bannable offense... I mean Cobra?

Thanks! Moore, literally on the dividing line between Moore and southwest OKC.

Thank you! Yeah, I'm usually not a very boastful person, but that is one thing that I definitely take a lot of pride in.

Thank you! Yeah, I'm trying to keep the miles down on the Cobra (only 60,xxx miles on a 1999), and I was also replacing my prior daily driver (2003 Kia Spectra, no air conditioning). I really liked the body style, and it had all of the options I was looking for (good MPG, 5 speed, and air conditioning) for the best price. I'm hoping to stay in the same MPG range that I got with the Kia (32 MPG mixed).

Thanks! That's good to hear.. I thought about going for an '09 and up (I like the front end a lot better), but I just couldn't beat the price on this one.

Pictures of the Cobra? That I can do. Got a few recent ones (May), just a couple shots to try out my new camera. The last one is the only side shot that I had on my computer (but it was before I put the Saleen spoiler on it, and filled in the front bumper holes).

Thanks again everyone for the welcome.

      Thanks!

Haven't done much under the hood.. Actually, I've only done one thing there, and I still haven't even used it yet! I'm still not sure if I want to pull the trigger on modding this one, or hold out for an '03-'04 Cobra. I've had the car for over two years now and I haven't even gotten around to the CAI yet.

Only thing under the hood at the moment, is that it's setup for a 75 shot of nitrous (Zex wet kit). It's been hooked up for quite a while, but I've been waiting to get a window switch and get it tuned first. I'm just paranoid about using it, even on such a relatively small shot.

Other than that.. 3.73 gears, BBK offroad X-pipe, Borla catback, Intrax lowering springs, 17x9/17x10.5 rims, 275/40/17 Nitto 555's up front, 315/35/17 Nitto 555R's out back, B&M ripper short throw, and others are strictly visual (Saleen spoiler, '03 Cobra rear bumper).
