      NYChevoo still exists!

hey all! sorry I havent been on in a while. I'm still here mostly lurking while I find another Aveo to drive. I really miss my 04 sedan and while the Cruze Eco 6spd has been fun to drive I feel as if I never shouldve pulled the trigger and gave my Aveo to my wifes cousin. I really shouldve kept it for myself. Around 200000 miles she totalled it. Such horrible pictures and my heart was broken. My wife drives the new Sonic hatchback and says its blows here Aveo hatchback out of the water. I personally do not think so. Both the Cruze and Sonic are all digital this, and bluetooth that. Too much for me to deal with while driving. Both cars are 2012 bought new. Anyway the simplicity of my Aveo sedan is what I enjoyed most. Good a/c, automatic, and a decent cd player. Thats what I had and enough to keep me happy while driving around. I miss all the conversations here and all everyone is doing. I'm still looking for that "right" used Aveo and when I find here I surely will be back with all of you! I shouldve mentioned that the Cruze has the 1.4L turbo and my wifes Sonic has the 1.8L. Both cartridge style oil filters up near the driver side of the engine. makes a mess during oil changes. You have to stuff a rag underneath the filter housing to catch the oil that drips. Maybe I'm just bitching because I love the Aveo! Anyway see you all soon. I'll be back on at some point! What my wifes cousin did to my old Aveo.

Oh jeez, that looks like a really hard hit! Hope she wasn't hurt!

I agree with you wholeheartedly that I like the balance the Aveo had between analog and digital. It makes for an easy to work on car, and ultimately adds to the fun of driving it!
I firmly believe that if you have to cram tech and screens and crap into your car, then you're not a driver, you're just a consumer.

Come on back soon. The good news is Aveos can be had pretty reasonably.

Oh c'mon, that'll buff out! Sucks to see them smashed.

And +1 to PoisonIvy, I picked up my 06 Orange LS for just under $500 cash, with bent valves, and a primered hood. In fact I am under two grand purchase price of both of our Aveo's, so the deals are out there if people look, and the deals can get crazy cheap if you don't mind doing a little engine or trans work.

Aw man, looks like she hit a pickup truck or something! Think about it this way, you can always get parts off your old Aveo when you get a new one!

      Cheers
