Passenger air bag light above clock on dash

I just bought this 2008 Chevrolet Aveo 1.6 4 cylinder 4 door car with the airbag light on in the dash when I bought the car from a small car dealer in Maplewood Minnesota USA. When I bought the car the dealer said he will fix the issue. So, I brought the car back to the dealer a week later. The mechanic said the air bag light error was related to the clock on the dash? The clock also shows passenger air bag on or off above the time. So, they replaced the clock with a Chevrolet dealership part and reset the air bag light. Now I'm having the same issues, less then a week later. The passenger lights on and off light only light up once in a while or not at all. Today the clock and the air bag light in the clock area went off all together like it was unplugged. So, the mechanic is going to look at it tomorrow. The only OBD shows that I need a intake camshaft position sensor circuit.

I tool the car to the dealership and they removed the clock and opened it up and the circuit board was burnt ( Black spot on it ) That was the 1st replacement clock. The original clock they still had on the shelf at the garage and took it apart only to see that the circuit board was burnt as well. The dealership is ordering another clock from somewhere the GM dealership discontinued them clock part number 96945862...There's suppose to be a replacement clock part number i seen on google # 96851893

Thank you I'll have my mechanic check into it. As long as the clock has a light for passenger air bag also.

The car dealership replaced the clock for the third time on the dash that shows air bag on or off. I also noticed that the the on and off air bag weren't always working if I had someone in the passenger seat or not. The air big light was also on in the cluster or dash. I took the 2008 Chevrolet Aveo to a Chevrolet dealership close to my home to have them diagnosis the problem $190, They originally told me $98 when I called them. So, I'm waiting to hear back from the Chevrolet dealership who has my car now. I still have a signed paper from the dealership I purchased the car from that says they will fix the air bag issue. Thank God !

The air bag light on the instrument panel is unrelated to the air bag passenger light (as well as the on/off) above the clock. The issue with the clock and passenger side air bag light seems to be related to cold solder joints and the PC board, which is easily remedied by cleaning affected joints and resoldering.
