Hello all, I just replaced the head on a 2011 and all went well, or so I thought. I cleaned or replaced all parts that had milk running through them. It seemed like it was going to end well when I went to start the car and it fired up. I let it idle for a minute and then gave it some gas only to hear a loud sucking and the car die. I figured out pretty quickly what the issue is. The throttle body plate is just barely moving. I have tested the wiring on basically everything connected the the system and what I have concluded is that the 2 wires for the motor both have 12 volts running through them. Anyone know if that is the computers way of putting the car in limp mode? There were other DTC's because I unplugged many of the sensors before realizing the head gasket was blown so I have several permanent codes that I don't think will go away until the car drives a few cycles, which it can't do until the throttle functions.
One of the wires to the throttle motor is supposed to be a ground, is that correct? If that is correct and this isn't a way of the car being put into limp mode I will begin searching for the wiring problem. I will try just about anything at this point. If anyone has any ideas I am listening.
