So you would believe me if I said I got 78mpg in my Aveo, if I were an admin here and if I said my mother was sitting next to me when it happened?
Ok.

Then we'd know the real mileage you're getting. Get me numbers on 10 fill ups, I'll calculate a good figure for you (average, range(95%))...
r u ****in serious? dont be an idiot. :dark1:Quote:

Statistician out.
i imagine it is possible for both daniel and dennis to mess up (ie sometimes bubbles form in the gas tankn and you have shake the car to burp it out) but the fact that they were both doing around the same speed of 55mph (which a favorable speed for mpg) with no traffic on a highway then it is just as likely that it could have happened....yes an average would give you a better idea but not everyday is going to have the same constants like temp, traffic, speed, hills or not....also denis mentioned it was rainy which leads me to believe there was a lower coeffiecent of friction between his tires and the road that once he got up to speed and keep it (which usually happens on highways) it would take less efford for the car to roll
p.s. that last part is just some bs
which math? his converting? or actual recordingsQuote:

 OK: I got 78mpg in my Aveo, now it's up to you to prove it! This is too easy.
Or as they say here: THiz iS two eeZee! :D
yo maybe you are clicking on the wrong forum but you don't need to provide a scientific explaination every time you post something....let see hmm i thought forums were for discussing which is what we are doing. he just put it out there to say that when he calculated his mpg he got 58 and now we are discussing how he got it and taaaadaaa we have a thread. yay now that you understand the workings of a forum we can move on
Look i don't care what the numbers are the fact that he clames he got 58mpg i think is not Probable....... the Aveo does get great MPG but unless you have an outside source that would magicly make the right temp, road serface, and Fuel Air Mixture then i do not think it is posable to even get close to 58mpg let alone 50+ i would think 40MPG is pushing it 45mpg is still posable but the right everything to get it is not likely i am just saying it's no Probable to get the Numbers he clames he got even 1 time you would have to find a road that is 58 miles long all down hill and have exactly 1 gallon of gas and set the Air Fuel Mixture at the best posable setting to get what he got. then Maybe just Maybe you might get the same thing i bet Mythbusters couldn't even get the same outcome he got.
by the way i dumped a fith of White lighting Moonshine in with a tank of 87 Octain Gas from Arco and i busted out with 100MPG in my 2004 Chevy Aveo sadan with Automatic trans
Ya this last part is So B.S. it's not even funny....................
all your periods are in the wrong place. they shouldnt be at the bottom of your post, but rather strategically placed throught your poor excuse for a post.Quote:

watch out pcm will want a scientific explaination for that b1rd
i got his Math right here.Quote:

Dude this is a BOARD it is ment to talk about stuff if i want to POST that he is full of **** and i do not think he was able to get 58MPG in his Aveo then i have the Right to do so. Now i have driven accross the country. 28 states i have been to. i also have been in 2 other countrys. Mexico and Canada. I know that 55 is not the Speed limit in all the states. here in CA it's 65 and some roads it's 70. but Trucks and trailers have a 55 MPH Speed Limit. AZ has a 75MPH Limit. I think Utah does too. so what is the Speed limit for the area you got the so called 58MPG? i think that all of the Numbers for this So called 58MPG should be posted i think you should post Milage, Fuel, Speed Limit, Google Maps the area so we all can se it. i am willing to recreate what you did to see for my self that it can or can't be done. as much info that you have to get the 58MPG is needed so start making a List.Quote:

He said he filled up, went 150 kms, filled up again which only took 6 L. While there are inherent flaws with that procedure, his calculation is correct.Quote:
