      Gallons:4.495
      MPG:36.30700779

I was fairly pleased with this tank until mkt8891 posted lol anyways this was pretty much 80% highway 20%city....I do believe throwing it into neutral coming up to stops has helped. Another thing i think that is effecting the numbers is how little I am going before I fill up, but it just happens that way because i only drive up and back from school once a week. School is done soon so then ill get to take it a bit further between fill ups.

damn how do u manage to drive that slow in ct? ive been up there a few times and I was doing like 10 over the speed limit and i still had cars flying by me.
yea thats typical around here. i just laugh at people doing 80mph+ with gas the price it is and most the time im not in a hurry to get where im going so there really is no reason to be going 80mph+

I bought my 04 Aveo about 6 weeks ago. It's an auto. I get about 34mpg combined. The aveo is loaded, but I wish that it had cruise control.

OK, after some listening, and some elbow grease, I finally replaced my air fliter with the K & N filter, replaced the plugs with NGK BKR6EIX-11 Iridium plugs and put on a set of Magnacore Wires. Wow!! What a difference!! It only took my 80000 miles to get around to this. While I was there I also drained out my old trans fluid and replaced it with the B & M Trickshift Trans fluid. I could almost see a smile on my Aveos grill today. By the way, filled up 11 gallons at $4.15/gallon for $42.00. Disgusting!!! I'm curious to see what increase in mileage I get. The original NGK factory plugs were worn to the nub.

      Case 8:
      Miles:173.2
      Gallons:5.465
      MPG:31.6925892

Yea I was a little late to get some places I needed to go so I wasn't following my normal driving rules and it was a lot more city driving than normal

      Case 9:
      Miles:257.6
      Gallons:8.471
      MPG:30.40963287

This time was just all my driving on sunday. Once again driving like a maniac to get to a soccer game all the way up north at the tip of NJ. I think at one point we were doing like 95 on the turnpike. Alot of zipping around city driving too. I expected to be in the 20's with this one but I was happy when I calculated it.

      Re: Aveosam's MPG Thread

ok i've filled up twice since the last time i posted
1st: drove 177 miles and put in 4.948 gallons and averaged 35.77 mpg

putting a header on tomorrow morning (thanks to thenixonyouth) and will see if that helps any.

This is how i save gas. pull back the fuel 13%.

You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.

      Re: Aveosam's MPG Thread

I figure every time I fill up. Depending on the distance and the way I am driving, I run between 35 and 38 miles per gallon (I drive like a friggin grandma).
I am going to do the real test of my fas mileage in June, I am taking a trip from Seattle to Martinez, CA. It's about 750 miles or so. My aveo is all stock, so I will be able to get a pretty accurate number. I mean, on the 5 I can set the car at 70 and roll on till empty. The mountains may cause a drop though. We will just have to see. If nothing else, it will be a pretty good "real world" measure.
