I've noticed a big difference between hilly terrain and flat plains. That's normal. Thinner air and the inclines will affect millage.
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.
Even at $1.99 (seattle, wa) friggin' 20mpg sucks!
With a manual and no A/C, I've frequently reached 40MPG. I think the automatics in our cars really drag the mileage down. I also do mostly highway driving on the flat florida terrain.
To me, if you're gonna drive an automatic, then expect mileage to be in the 20s. Even the 50mpg 3-cylinder geo metros got about 30mpg with automatic instead of manual.
