how much time do you add to a commute?
I drive 77+mi to work right now and I start at 7 am, I allow 1hr 45 min for traffic and weather flat tire what ever... I get to work at about 6:40 am everyday if not sooner.... My drive home I take my time , pulse and glide all the way unless I reach a hill or traffic is rough. I get there relaxed and ready to go in stead of rammy ram jet off to the races type of a drive.
well today i just got 40.4 mpg with mostly city and a little highway driving. and yes it was granny driving for most of the time then the past few days i drove like normal. so now im shooting for 42-45mpg
I've never hit above 33mpg with my automatic.
Keep trying and would be best if you maybe accelerated a bit quicker to get into highway gear then coast in n when possible. Good luckQuote:

Best was today with 39.17 mpg. I put a K@N air filter in it and new iridium plugs, although those weren't put in when this tank was started. It's about 90% highway driving with 10% stop and go through small towns and Dayton. One way trip is just under 60 miles.
I removed my K&N filter about 6 weeks ago and have stock now. Last 6 fillups are well over 40 mpg.
less air is cutting fuel? was it a ram air, cai or drop in?
K&N makes no claims that their product helps with fuel economy only hp... I could see maybe on a carbed vehicle but not the fuel injected cars now. It is a hp boost which most often means driving harder and wasting mpgs. Google ,six gas mileage myths.....
