Yeah. It looks a hell of a lot better using Canadian gallons! Who ever said everything is bigger in the US was wrong lolQuote:

Not likely that it would work. It would be more trouble than it is worth, besides which it is not necessary. Those Americans and Canadians who live near the border know where car dealer ads originate, and they know the difference in measurement of a gallon, respectively.Quote:

Ah crap, the damn measurements aren't the same... lol. no wonder.
I just double checked and my measurement of 31mpg actually is in US gallons.
With the measurement at 4.54, this would be 37mpg
Still that is pretty damn good mileage, frog!Quote:

How is the exhaust smell without the cat?Quote:

For a little bit it was smoking quite a lot while it burned off oil or excess paint (or whatever xiaogary covered it in for shipping) but it's gone now.Quote:

Obviously mostly highway (and limiting speed mostly to 60mph)
That's the hard part. :DQuote:

I do wish we had the 6th gear when I'm up there.. :D
Sorry for the necro, was wondering what mileage people are getting nowadays. Personally I've kept a spreadsheet since a month or two of owning the car, and it's interesting to see how much it varies with the type of driving being done (2012 Aveo5 T250 1.6 5-speed manual hatchback). Also interesting is our fuel price, which is steadily creeping up...
My current average is 7.23 L/100km (39.09MPG UK gallons, 32.53MPG US). Some months have been almost exclusively highway driving interspersed by very short distances when I was at University, followed by lots of highway driving with the car full of household items, and in recent weeks it's been with mostly city driving with the occasional longer trip.
I've attached the spreadsheet so far. I've tried to keep it as accurate as possible with recording the odo reading at every complete fill up, skipping the 1.5 months the car was undergoing warranty work and a few places where I filled up with less than a full tank. I'm quite disciplined with my driving, almost always shifting before 3000rpm and usually close to 2000rpm unless a fast pull off is required, and generally don't exceed 120km/h (speed limit on the highways :)). Sorry to the US guys, it's all metric...

Points for the attached spreadsheet after it's science

Oh you hurt our feelings here in the US. You use a spreadsheet and don't even bother with a MPG column. /SNARK ;-)
My gas mileage was going down and after I got my head fixed (other reasons) I was able to get my MPG back up. It's running about the same numbers as you at Avg 32 MPG.
Precisely, I am a science student after all :) Glad to hear others are getting similar numbers.
I've been wondering about the "reserve" fuel, i.e. how much further I can go after the fuel light goes on. I haven't yet reached that state but I have filled the car with just under 40l, meaning there was just north of 5l left, and I assume that light goes on at 5l remaining.
In my car it's about a gallon remaining about 3.7 liters. So I suspect it's going to show lower for you than 5 liters.
260-280 miles, 25-28mpg. Driving about 63mph (30mph with as little as possible stops in city) 90% highway according to my gauge which I feel is accurate as all 3 cars I've tested on WA/OR meters are exactly 3mph slower than my gauges. 2003 Jag, 1990 Cressida and the 2005 Aveo hb.
2.69gal, $24.5 for 9 gallons which fills it on Fred Myers auto off detect level, I try to always fill it at the last notch because of how far I have to drive I can't dip lower and it's cheaper at work than near home. Tire pressure 49front 44rear, correct pressure to the temps outside and tire sidewall rating. All season tires. I also try to eliminate making an extra stop for gas by filling only when I need to.
I think a street summer pattern would get even better mileage I also think all the wheel bearings need to be done. Needs the inner fender wells and maybe the GM roof racks removed since I'm not using them. No check engine lights.
I'll do some even more precise calculations soon although I'm always going to use Fred Myers auto off pump feature because self service isn't allowed and it's that much cheaper on the OR side.
