Not likely that it would work. It would be more trouble than it is worth, besides which it is not necessary. Those Americans and Canadians who live near the border know where car dealer ads originate, and they know the difference in measurement of a gallon, respectively.

When it comes to advertising, there is no need for advertisers to be deliberately deceptive. They only need to be suggestive to be effective. The public deceives itself because people have been conditioned to deceive themselves. And they enjoy the game - which is why carnival sideshows and circuses are popularly enjoyed by many.

Ah crap, the damn measurements aren't the same... lol. no wonder.

I just double checked and my measurement of 31mpg actually is in US gallons.
With the measurement at 4.54, this would be 37mpg

My Wave is rated 48mpg hwy and the best I ever got out of it (that I bothered to measure) was 42mpg. Mind you a Canadian gallon is 4.54L and a US gallon 3.78L. Big difference.

Still that is pretty damn good mileage, frog!

Yeah that was at 60mph in hilly terrain from Timmins, ON to Mont-Laurier, QC. 642km trip on 43L of gas. There were no gas stations for like 200km... Let me say I was happy to get into Mont-Laurier to gas up. The light had been on for a while!

Just did my last measurement. It's 25.99663666040 MPG. That's a mix of city/highway driving with some idling. That was before xiaogary's header went in though. After that I haven't measured it yet, but I bet it will be right around 20 since I shift mostly around 4-5k RPM just to feel the extra pull...

Reminds me of my old country... Back in the countries of former Soviet Union (Ukraine being one of them) many older cars didn't have a cat... (even though I've been gone from there for over 10 years, I still remember the smell and kind of like it though). For a little bit it was smoking quite a lot while it burned off oil or excess paint (or whatever xiaogary covered it in for shipping) but it's gone now.
