if it would get my car better gas mileage i'd give it an enema!! it looks like a complete scam job.
Come on now, pills make everything better.. Right?
Honestly, I am sure this isn't a joke, but it should be. Someone will buy these, and even though is probably will do nothing but gum up their fuel system, someone is going to rave about how well they work. Me, I ain't taking any chances.
Heh, over 2 bucks a piece. You better get some significant gains for them to be worth it....
here, take two of these and we'll see you at the pump next week.
thats a classic Ron!!
your best bet for good gas mileage-get off the damn gas pedal!
Either that or get an Aveo!
My gas Mileage raised 20%. All I had to do was take my Cobalt into the chevy dealership, and trade it out for an Aveo.
Hey, Maybe I should send that to Chevy. They may be able to use it for thier next commerical.
"My gas Mileage went up 80%. All I had to do was trade my 78 Suburban for an 08 Aveo!"
It could work!
I thought the Cobalts had a better gas mileage rating than the Aveo? My girlfriend has a '09 G5 and it seems like she gets better mileage than I do. Most people are surprised when I tell them that my little matchbox car actually gets roughyl the same gas mileage as my '00 Camaro. But gas mileage isn't really my concern when I bought the Aveo, I just didn't want to put all the miles on my Camaro from driving back and forth to school everyday, and it was getting to be winter in NY
well besides bringing a dead post back to life lol,
Also remember the aveo only has a 10 gallon tank. doesnt your camaro have like a 15-20 gallon tank?
aveo has a 11 gallon tank you fool :P :P :P :P :P :P
my aveo's gas guzzling is due to my lead foot and the fact thast my car is normally way above 3000 rpm
im sure i could get well over 30 if i drove like a normal person
Well, if you were to walk, bicycle or take the bus your percentage gain in mileage would be at infinity.Quote:

Oh, well. "Different strokes for different folks..."
My mom's Chevy Equinox gets TWICE.. TWICE the gas mileage then my Aveo...
Even before i put the 2.0 in my 1.6 would get me roughly 330-350 kms (205-218 miles) on a full tank of gas. No matter how i drove it, no matter how much i babied it. TERRIBLE gas mileage from day 1.
My 2.0 averages 270-320 kms on a full tank. Thats 16 miles per gallon people.. Some v8's get better gas mileage... My mom had an Optra prior to the Equinox and she told me it had terrible gas mileage compared to her SUV.
I laugh out loud when i drive by a gm lot with an Aveo that says 49 MPG in big fat letters on the windshield.. yeah right, dream on!
Everytime I calculated it out, my Camaro was only a few MPG's less than the Aveo. I hit the 30 MPG's range several times throughout the summer with the Camaro. I think the biggest problem with the Aveo is the gearing. If they added a 6th gear or changed the gearing around a bit, I don't have any doubts we'd be easily hitting the 40 MPG ratings with the Aveo's. I usually drive around 70 on the highway and I will be running around 3300 RPM, if they could get that down to about 2000 it'd save alot of gas.
Of course as an afterthought, theyre also adding that goddamn ethanol to gas now, so thats dragging fuel economy down a bit.
most v8s are gears the 70mph is practically idling in 5th gear, but a v8 has to power to do that. driving style determines gas economy. if i had a v8 (i used to) i would still be in third or fourth gear at 70 mph.
Also remember the Aveo coefficient of drag is probably the worst of all cars on the market right now. .34 for the 04-08 hatch (04-06 sedan) and .32 for the 07+ sedan.
The Toyota Yaris 0.29 and Honda Civic 0.28.... That's a big difference.
and they make no aero parts
the 350z has about million of them though =D>
Most of the aftermarket aero parts you can buy increase drag though. The exception is maybe some of the air dams.
Wouldn't lowering reduce drag?
Yup.*
* (Usually. Depends on the aero properties of the underbody. But as a rule of thumb for typical passenger cars, lowering helps. It's becoming a common tactic manufacturers are using on "eco" models of regular cars. EG. the upcoming Chevy Cruze "eco" has a lower ride height than the regular model.)
while i doubt the aveo is included in this.. it is also very common for us cars to sit higher than the same model in other parts of the world. this is typical for side impact testing the us is the one with the side impact height set to suvs.. so they tend to raise cars in relation to the side beam. i believe the last generation of vw gti was raised like 19mm compared to the european version to meet that standard.
Don't fall for it this will cause more harm than good all you are going to do is damage the engine. I wonder who came up with a pill for a car you are right to say it is a scam, Mythbusters proved that only the driver and the way he or she drives can improve gas mileage. Just drive the speed limit and you will be fine never run over sixty studies have shown that a car gets twenty percent less gas mileage at a higher rate of speed than going slower.
You are correct. For example the Aveo stands about 2 inches higher off the ground than the Honda Fit and the Toyota Yaris.Quote:

Kind of sucks for the guys like me who try to lower it... when it's lowered, it looks just the same height as other stock cars it's class  And still stits higher than any stock height integra. LOL :D I'm fine with it though (not like I have much choice in the matter). Plus the height it's at right now is really the lowest it can be, when I roll over hump getting off the road into our driveway and I stop at the highest point - it almost touches the side skirts. I've thought about cutting a full circle off my H&R springs, but this has always stopped me. 8)Quote:
