I just filled up the gas tank for a second time in my 05 Aveo. After calculations were complete, I averaged 34.5MPG. This is the first car I've owned that got more than 30. Needless to say, I AM VERY HAPPY!!!
Loving the Aveo right now,

Loving the Aveo right now,
We also have a 2005 hatchback and really like it so far. It has 127,000+ miles on it and have replace the timing belt kit for the second time. We live in a small community so city mileage might not apply. Around town we get 26 + mpg on a regular basis and on a road trip we get 38 mpg driving 60 to 65. We are very satisfied with the car. Do wish they would use a timing chain instead of belt!
Well timing belts and chains come out to about the same cost over time. A belt is done more frequently, but the cost is 1/5-1/2 the chain replacement. Chains typically last about the same amount of time as a comparable number of belt changes cost.
if that makes sense.
My friends have driven imports for years with timing chains and have went over 200K and have never replaces a chain. Two have replace the nylon idler. but whatever, we are still happy with our AVEO and will replace belts as needed.
Have a great day
