other subcompacts complaining about mpg
i feel like that if i meet this person id hit them...
http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/nis...sapointed.html
he's get 34mpg mixed with 120hp 1.8L and he's complaining about it and thinks there is something wrong....appearantly he thought he bought a hybrid vehicle lol
Re: other subcompacts complaining about mpg
idiot... I wish I got 34 mixed in the Swift... with pulse'n'go during open loop I'm only getting 28 mixed, but then again all the short haul trips are only 5 km, so that's way bad on fuel economy... I see better than EPA on highway.
Re: other subcompacts complaining about mpg
if i did near the speed limit on long highway trips to school, i would get ~35mpg maybe more. when i calculated it last time i got 31-32 mpg doing anywhere from 75-90mph most of the time
Re: other subcompacts complaining about mpg
EPA is 32/22 manual or 31/21 automatic. I routinely get >=34 on the highway, but easily as low as 22 city...

yea i can do the same, get high than average highway but total kill the city mpg
Re: other subcompacts complaining about mpg
from what i see on other car forums...the fits mpg is what its cracked up to be...same range as ours
Re: other subcompacts complaining about mpg
my city and hwy mileage is ****ty all the way around. i dunno how to stay off the gas.
Re: other subcompacts complaining about mpg
I just took a 700 mile round trip road trip, just got a new catalytic converter and muffler about 1,000 miles ago...I have an '04 with 35,000 miles on it...brand new (factory) spark plugs and wires right before the trip...so basically, my car's like new again (almost)...and I got 34.8 mpg...I was trying to stick to around 2500 rpms since I heard a rumor about that giving the best gas mileage. This is the best mpg I've ever gotten! City driving dramatically reduces it to around 17 mpg, but we'll see now that I'm only putting in premium and got all the new equipment. Last I checked (when I still had the aftermarket wires and plugs in, but after the new cat. and muffler) I got about 25 mpg mixed.
Re: other subcompacts complaining about mpg
Premium is going to get you less mpg than you could get with regular. Stick with what the manufacturer recommends.

I'll try regular on my next trip to compare. I was having problems with occasional misfires, so I began putting in premium to clear out my fuel tank and engine in case I had gotten some of that bad gas that's going around.
Re: other subcompacts complaining about mpg
im geting 36 mpg in stop and go traffic, and once got 58mpg on the highway doing 80-90 km/h, so im very happy with my car

Water contamination is my guess. A bottle of methanol to a full tank usually fixes the problem.
Re: other subcompacts complaining about mpg
hes complaining about 34 MPG???? I'm happy I'm getting 29 on average last two tanks.
