Yeah that forbes bit has been talked about. And I'm still wondering what they know about cars? Besides we all know the aveo is an economy car, and cheap. To me that's part of the apeal, having a cheap project car that I can fix and enhance, while still enjoying a new car.

I will think of a better signature later.

Wow. You're getting awesome mileage compared to mine. Rural driving at 60 MPH yields 24-26 MPG. I live in the suburbs, and regularly go downtown, and then my mileage is 21-22. I don't drive hard at all----I don't impede traffic, but I don't out accelerate anyone at stoplights, either. I used to get 30 MPG all day long in my 07 WRX. Needless to say, I'm quite disappointed.

      2009 Aveo5 LT Automatic - 17k miles.

I just had the O2 sensors both replaced under warranty, we'll see if that helps my mileage at all. I'm not very optimistic, tho.

Shibbs, the secret to great gas mileage is vtec, that is the reason for my amazing numbers.

I just did a trip to Minnesota. I rented a Ford Focus 4 door sedan. The other choice was a two door Aveo Sedan (yeach). Not yeach on the Aveo but the two doors. I got 31.6 MPG over two tanks of gas with a mixture of city and highway driving. My own aveo just went from 32-33 down to 28. That means it's time for some TLC (change oil, new air filter, check tires blah blah blah).

Very rarely I get really great numbers meaning 35+.
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....
