how many new tanks of summer gas have you run? might take a few to adjust.
i would try a different gas company as well, you dont have that much of a drop. but i know a few brands around here i will lose 3-4 mpg with the different additives, amount of ethanol.
any running issues? you said you gave it a tune up, that included air filter, plugs wires, oil? what else did you do?

Got 39.2 mpg after getting my car back. After reading this thread, I decided to try and see what kind of mileage I could get if I tried and drove a little smarter. Stayed right at 60 or less on the highway, no a/c (which sucked on the way to work today because it was so humid), coasting to all stops and on all hills, started in 2nd and shifted at 2500 rpm's the majority of the time, and made sure all my tires were aired up to 38 psi. I wanna see if I can get it into the 40's, but its getting hotter and more humid, gonna need a/c.
I was really happy tho. The wind here in North Texas has been awful. Plus I pretty much just drive my car for work, lots of hills.

Just filled up the Aveo for the first time in quite a while (first fill of 2011) and got 41.1 mpg. I pump my tires up to ~45 psi, accelerate hard (lots of gas pedal) but keep the rpms under 2500, coast if I see red lights ahead and drive the speed limit most of the time.

I average 36-39 but we have hit 46......im aiming for the 50 mark....of course i actually get a thrill out of the challenge so mines not really normal ;)

Hi guys,
I have a 2008 LS automatic. I drove 20,000miles since I got the car, the car had 37,000 miles. I am now at 58,000 miles.
I was tracking my MPG since I bought my Aveo and I was pretty satisfied with my 38MPG.
But since October my overall MPG dropped, to around 35MPG.
Here is the link of the excel file I did so you guys can take a look. SOrry I could not upload it, for some reason, it does not let me upload execl file, only pdf.
Download 120130 Chevrolet Aveo LS 2008.xls from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way
I haven't changed anything since I have the car, just did one coolant flush and fill, do oil changes.
I had the P2135 code recently, they replaced the TPS body and sensor, as well as the valve cover gasket.
Since they replaced the TPS, I don't really have my Gas mileage back, I was disappointed.
Could you guys help me find my mpg back? WHat should change that could greatly help?
Thanks,
Ben

That's less than a 10% decline which is not unexpected in cold weather. I lose more than that in the winter, but I'm much farther north.
-
35 is one of the best i have seen already, the drop may be very well due to the air being cooler as wylee said, I would not worry a whole lot, make sure you get that timing belt done though, and soon :)

As wylee stated this is due to winter. You'll get your 38 mpg back in summer.

I may have already posted in here but I will again. I've consistently gotten 30mpg with my automatic trans the whole life of my 04 Aveo. My wifes 07 Hatchback is clocking the same mileage.

Thanks guys, I use my car for commuting and I usually have the same road same traffic, I was not completely sure why I got some MPG decrease. Today in the Washington Baltimore area the weather was pretty hot and I think I will have a good MPG, I will post it here once I'll fill the tank.
