^^^Matter of fact, I may try to reserve a new 2012 sedan. I want to see pricing first, gas mpg & what's up with the timing? I would love to see a chain on there, but won't hold my breath. I'll be in the market for a new car in the spring of 2011, so this may work out?

i dont think there will be a chain, but i think the belts will or are supposed to last for 100k miles at least
i wanted to get the hatch, the 1.4T is going to be sick, but its a little more money then i want to put out, i think i would do better with my turbo miata in the long run
its supposed to be over 40mpg hwy, 6 gears help out there, and the price for the base will be up to maybe 13,000 im guessing since the cobalt is gone
the aveo rs will be worth the extras though if they come out with it
yes, but as with all gms, you will never pay sticker. especially if it is built state side, those are the cars that get all the incentives.. $16k cobalt for $9999.. etc.
Next year will be very interesting for the small car, especially with the new elantra & focus which really raise the bar. I'm def in the market for a new car in the summer of 2011 when all these new cars debut:

Think I'm just gonna sit back, do some test drives, and will let the best car win my hard earned dollars. I'm secretly routing for the 2012 aveo sedan, but competition will be stiff. I did some research and the new focus should share the new fiesta's sealed transmission & 150k timing belt change interval. I hope chevy is paying attention. I won't buy anything that doesn't get a real world 40mph highway. It's also nice to see leather, nav, radar/backup camera's,etc... being offered as options.

the only car i would get rid of the aveo for will be a polo/lupo gti.. or gtd.
All good choices. Don't think we'll ever see the gtd, I always wanted a tdi for a dd, but as a member of a trade union I'm required to drive a american car to work(even if it's korean). I have a very long commute to and from work almost a 100 miles a day, so a reliable compact car is a must, and I'm not a hybrid guy. Being that I spend sometimes 4 hours a day driving it will be nice to have a little luxury in a affordable package. I like my 08 aveo sedan, but when I see all the new models I know I'll be trading in. Just keeping it real.Originally Posted by petrified.rabbit

the new facility they talk about is in chattanooga, tenn,
That it is, I think vw will do very well with it's new na models. I'll have big decisons to make next year.Originally Posted by petrified.rabbit

no specs or price, i would think it would be a tad more expensive than the fit?
does that mean people wont consider it because its built in America?
