Autos.ca Favorably Reviews Both the Aveo and Wave

I was browsing auto reviews yesterday just to see what some of the new models look like, and decided to read some of the reviews they had done for the Aveo and its twin. I actually found a couple reviews in this regard, all of which are generally favorable. It's actually something I noticed when I first researched this car. I found that pretty much all Canadian car reviewers gave favorable reviews, whereas the US reviewers automatically shrug the car off (again, generally).

      Hatch

      Test Drive: 2009 Chevrolet Aveo5 LS - Autos.ca

      First Drive: 2009 Chevrolet Aveo5/Pontiac G3 Wave - Autos.ca
"As a second car, a commuter car, or an urban runabout, the Aveo5 and G3 Wave provide the maneuverability, performance, and fuel economy needed while still providing sufficient interior room and cargo room for practical needs."

      Sedan

Test Drive: 2007 Pontiac Wave SE Sedan - Autos.ca
"The Pontiac Wave SE sedan is a lot of car for under $20,000 all-in. It’s surprisingly roomy, comfortable and attractive. Quibbles include hard-to-see gauges, limited interior storage, and the unavailability of curtain airbags. The optional ABS and side airbags package is a must for safety. "

I found three more good reviews as well:

      2007 Pontiac Wave sedan
      "Overall rating: 7.9 / 10
      Pros

      • Modern upscale appearance inside, in particular the instrument panel
      • Quality feel, fit and materials throughout
      • Can be fully equipped (including ABS) for less than $20K

      Cons

      • One solitary cup holder – out of reach
      • Standard braking system inadequate
      • Rather lethargic performance"

      2009 Pontiac G3 Wave | Autonet.ca

"Just like a good Canadian, the G3 Wave acts polite, doesn’t make a fuss (unless you need to go really fast!) and tries hard to please others, even if it isn’t always successful. It’s a fine hatchback for anyone looking for an affordable first car or secondary vehicle. It doesn’t stand out from the pack, but it doesn’t do anything truly terribly either."

      2009 Chevrolet Aveo: Driving Canada's cheapest car | Wheels.ca
"And how does it drive? After 600 km, the verdict: not like a cheap car, that's for sure. GM will be wincing to read the word "cheap," preferring "inexpensive," and that's probably the more accurate term. The Aveo is no flimsy Tata Nano, which lacks a radio and even a second windscreen wiper, but an exceptionally well finished compact car."
