European sales figures for Aveo through 2009

Found these figures on GM's Europe site.

Noteworthy: "Aveo accounted for 21 percent of Chevrolet sales in Europe in 2009 and thereby continues to be among the most important models in Chevrolet Europe's range."

For the sedan (called the "4-door" in Europe):

      # In the model range since: 2006
      # Units sold in Europe until end of 2009: 226,500
On an average annual basis, that's 56,625 sedans.

For the hatchback / Aveo5 (called the "5-door" in Europe):

      # In the model range since: March 2008
      # Units sold in Europe until end of 2009: 381,000
      22 months = 17,318 / month, or 207,818 per year.

For the 2-door hatchback: (called the "3-door" in Europe):

      # In the model range since: June 2008
      # Units sold in Europe until end of 2009: 50,500
      19 months = 2657 / month, or 31,895 per year.

I'm surprised at how much the Euro stats dwarf the US / North American figures.

Went back through post one and calculated annualized sales figures for each model:

      56,265 - sedan / 4-door
      207,818 - hatchback / 5-door
      31,895 - hatch / 2-door
      ----------------------------------
295,978 - Europe average annualized sales

Compare to the average US sales for 2004-2009 (which includes the "Cash for Aveos!" government stimulus program)

62,207 - U.S. annual average (includes both hatchback and sedan)

      Race cars! Maybe BIG cars.

I always thought the 2 best selling vehicles in the US were the Camry & F-150.

On some of the sites I was reading, the Aveo is considered a family sized car.
