First official pics of next gen 2012 Aveo - car to be shown in Europe in Oct.

i would suspect the 1.4 as the choice for the spark, and the aveo to have the 1.8 and 1.4t just like the cruze.. but that is me. And only because they went up in size from the current aveo, i highly doubt it would be offered with less hp. (100hp 1.4), qnd i believe with the 6 speed the 1.8 will get better fuel mileage numbers.

Hopefully the gm website is wrong, and both are offered with a 1.4t and speed manual. Because i cant find a way to make that car on gms website with the cruse.. (that set up in the RS edition only would be fine)..

I'm working on some parts for the next Aveo, and on the PO it states Vehicle SOP is August 2011, and EOP is August 2016.

I heard it from GM that the Aveo will share the engine and Transmissions from the Cruze. The hatchback debuting first then the sedan in the coming months. I have already test drove a Cruze the engine is great coupled with a six speed Automatic or Manual transmissions. I tried the six speed automatic which by the way i can't drive stick.

I hope they stick with the projector headlights. I like the look so much better.

Sorry everyone I"m holding out for the 2012 Aveo Sedan.

I wonder if those new engines and transmissions share the same design as the 1st gen models, which could possibly mean a bolt on 6 speed transmission swap for the 1st gen guys!
