Your used Aveo is worth more than it used to be (due to high gas prices)

Interesting tidbit about the cost of gas and its effect on used car prices:

That's better than the stock market!! Shoulda bought a bunch of Aveos in May!!!

So far I haven't read any news stories about insane people paying $6k for worn out Geo Metros. Apparently a few did last time gas prices went over 4 bucks / gallon in the U.S. :D (I wasn't one of them - I swear!)

I have known this for a month or two when i looked at nada and kbb, it is insane on how much the values have gone up, just makes it easier to get rid of mine :D

Yeah, I am going to shop around after winter, its a 50-50 chance, I just dont want to commit a lot of money into another car just yet, I will have a good idea of my future in the next 8-12 months, I hope...

Smart move, I know I'm sitting well right now so I have been getting stuff for my car, and some other stuff I don't need lol.

Yeah, I very well may trade in in September now, I am expecting over $5000 trade in on my car now, there are some minor things I need to take care of though first. The longer I wait, the more I lose.

If this is so, how come sergi's car has not sold? He has a sweet deal with mods...if I had the cash I would go for it as it stands you get a great car with good gas millage.

Different part of country, a lot of mods which may not appeal to some people, I think he has only put it on CL as well, and CL sucks hard. If he puts it on eBay it would be gone, but he has been working a lot so I do not think he has even had the time to really "sell it". I did want to buy it at one point though, but an aveo is an aveo, I want out :D

I meant more of the fact that it may not be to someone's taste, but yeah, mods do not add any value either, though his car has really low miles as well.

according the value estimates, i should trade my car in, i "would" only take a $2000 loss..

which having the car almost 3? years, is a cost of @ $60 a month...

yeah right.

Mine has lost somewhere around $1100 on trade in and only $400 on private sale apparently. Not bad.
