When I tried to close it it took alot of force to get it to close but now I can't get it to open and I'm not sure what's wrong with it when I try the outside release it won't budge I don't want to pay the 100 bucks the dealership charges to look at it what can I do

It's no big deal, the snap fittings that goes to the latch to the pull handle will pull off if you forced it. AND YOU FORCED IT so it came off. Just go in from the seat and there is a emergency release there. It should pop open. Then you can remove the cover and fix the pull.

In the summer time on my car, I have to force the hatch down to release the pressure so it will not come off. In the winter it's ok.

Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....
