I had a small black box under the drivers side of my dash catch on fire. Afterwards I cannot get the headlights to work at all. I also cannot figure out what this small box is. I will attach a photo below.

damn bro. idk good luck, maybe rabbit will know. ill look under mine when i get a chance tho
have a better picture? i don't have the same wiring as you. and cant read the info off that part.
are only the headlights affected? did you upgrade your wattage or bulbs?
The numbers can't be read, they are burned and smeared. No upgrades, or anything, all stock. First, the lights would not turn off unless the battery was disconnected. About a week later that box just went up in smoke while driving home from work in the afternoon. It has a plug that goes into it, but the adapter got melted into the plug. I will try to get a better picture later on for you guys.. I really just don't know what to do here because I can't figure out what this damn part isOriginally Posted by petrified.rabbit
Also yes, seems that the lights are the only thing not working. No high or low beams. Just to clarify a bit this box is located right under the dash, to the right of the gas pedal above it.
I just took another look and I "think" the number is 160505 but it's very smeared and hardly visible.
I would suggest you take it to a dealer and maybe they can find out what it is and can probably order it.
The Chevy dealer here wants $90 to just look at it. Won't tell me anything at all.. It's pretty amazing that they wont even tell me what the part is.Originally Posted by dragonwarrior2016
Thanks a lot guys, looks like I'm just gona have to cough up the money and have this fixed correctly.
its is the drl module.
its probably fried (works like a relay) and kept your light on until it shorted out and burned up.
