08 Aveo LS, wont go into drive.

      Hello people,

I have a 08 Aveo LS with about 60k miles and transmission issues.

The car will not engage into drive, 2 or 1 gear, but it will engage and go in reverse. I tried the Hold option and its the same. I have checked the following solenoids for ohms, Pressure control solenoid, TCC solenoid, Timing Solenoid, Shift solenoid and they checked out fine. I checked the TCM to make sure it sends a signal to the transmission and that came out fine. I drained the transmission and took the pan off, fluid was like a purple brown color and pan had a little bit of metal shavings not to bad. I took of each solenoid off one by one and they all checked out fine when i gave it 12v, no clogs.

The CEL code it throws out is P0741, Torque converter clutch circuit performance or Stuck off. From what i have read, the TCC solenoid does not have anyting to do with engaging into drive. Dont know why that code comes up. No engine codes.

Im don't know what else it can be...im thinking of taking the valve body off to inspect it for clogs or debris.

Does anyone know what it could be?
Maybe a schematic or diagram of the valve body, to identify each solenoid and wiring.

      Thank you in advance!

is it the shifter alone that keeps it out of gear or the transmission?

      adjust the shifter/cable on transmission?

I am not having issues shifting into gear...the problem is that once in Drive it does not kick into gear and go forward. the fluid was purple brown like i described.

im noticing the pcs and 1&2sol and 3&4sol get hot with just the key switched to on.

i checked what i found to be the Safety Neutral Switch...witch i thought was the TCM or PnP switch.

the diagnostics software showed me how to check for voltage... it says to check voltage at different pins depending on the gear you want to check for example when in park and backprobing the pins "Key on, move shifter thru all ranges. Should show about Batt(+) in Park, less than .1V in all other ranges."

Its not showing any voltage in Park and showing Batt(+) in all other gears...except for reverse witch shows about 10v (weird that Reverse was the only gear engaging) when i test all other gears they all show Batt(+) in all positions.

So what i believe is the problem is this "Neutral Safety Switch" witch i thought was the TCM or PNP switch.
Here is a link with a picture of the part. http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...QQSINS320.html

      Any thoughts?

      update:

Replaced the neutral safety switch and no go....seems like the wiring is not grounded right or bad TCU.

If the PCS(pressure control solenoid) gets stuck in the on position just by turning the key to the on is it because its shorted or is it because the TCU is sending the signal and not grabbing any ground?

Any help with this crappy excuse of a car...worst car i've seen in years!

I know it’s been years but did you ever figure this out? My daughters 06 started this two days ago and I’m trying to figure this out myself.
