2004 Aveo Daytime Running Lights flickering

2004 Aveo- The Headlights are flickering when in daylight and not turned on. When I turn them on they are steady and fine. This is not the dash light flickering but both headlamps when the car is on with the headlight switch off. Everything I read in the forum addresses the dash light. I pulled the fuse and cleaned it - no changes. I pulled every relay in the fuse panel on the side of the drivers door and none shut off the DRL. Is there a relay somewher for the DRL? If this is a ground issue where do I check it? Car starts fine every time so I do not think it is the alternator. As stated when the headlamps are tuned on they are steady - no issues. Any Suggestions are appreciated! Thanks JRR

Sounds like a relay/module or switch.

Do the DRL's turn on/off when the parking brake is set/released? If they do, it would make it easier to hunt down the DRL relay/module, since you could listen for it clicking by having someone activate the parking brake switch repeatedly.

This page says the DRL relay is with the fuse panel (driver's side, remove the panel)

There are eight square relays all within the fuse cluster. There are two at the top, two at the bottom and four on the right side of the cluster. The DRL relay is on the right side that has four relays. You should see one big relay and immediately on its right side, a smaller relay. The smaller relay is the DRL relay.
(Can't vouch for the accuracy of that description, but let us know what you find.)

if the relay is good, i believe this is signs of a bad drl module. Its on the fire wall, look up the disabling drl thread to see what to look for. Unplugging it is always an option, but if you want drl, then you might need a new one.

FYI, GM Canada just issued a recall for the DRL module. Same symptoms.
