2006 Aveo Rear Tire Removal

So I'm trying to remove the rear tires so that I can put new brake shoes in. Can't get the tire off. Removed the four wheel nuts. Removed the spindle nut...wheel still will not come off.

Do I have to remove the bearing snap ring in order to get the wheel off as well? And if so, is there some kind of specialty tool for the snap ring? Because it definitely won't come off with a regular snap ring tool - I've tried like 200 times. I'm lost as to what else to do.

Put the spindle nut back on. Get a 5-10lb sled hammer hit the in side( back side) on the rubber tire hard be careful of the bounce back roll the tire around a little start hitting it again Keep doing until it fall off. Oh it might help to soak down the stud & center toward the studs that wear the rust is. This might a few day of soaking & hitting.
