      It was the crankshaft. The end of the crank that goes into the pully snapped off. Its just getting a new engine.

      Wow! I hope that is something that doesn't happen to the average Aveo. Did you mention how many miles on your car? Any theories as to how and why it happened?

      130k. And my best guess is letting a 16 year old drive it. Its a 5 speed and it was beat on hard.
