      Hi Michael,

Thank you for your post. Sorry to hear you are having issues with your speedometer. If you like I can check your VIN#to see if there are any special coverages or recalls for the problem you're experiencing. If so, please private message me the last 8 digits of your VIN#

Look forward to hearing from you.

My speedo not working either and my engine light is on. Car doesn't drive all that smoothly and in the 1st time the engine light came on the car would not idle but die. I 1st thought it might be the idle air controller valve but car is quite new. I'm pretty sur it's the speed sensor that's faulty.... All this, very sadly, is a result of trying to jumpstart my friends car. Hs radiator was connected wrongly and was shorting hs battery (only found out afterwards). I'm quite pissed off at myself for helping him and REALLY don't want to pay a lot of money to get the car checked out. I'm almost dead certain it's the vss but without a diagnostics check I can't be sure. Any help would really be appreciated!

Something I have seen at my shop is there is a gear inside the transmission that can get damaged and cause the speed sensor to not read very well... The transmission can become contaminated with antifreeze from a failed transmission cooler.... Check to see if you have trans fluid in your coolant reservoir, if you do you may have this problem... Also I found this guy put a video on it.
