2007 Chev Aveo clutch and ignition problem

Car started fine. Got to red light, clutch engaged I hear a noise, turn off a/c still making noise. Light turns green and when I let clutch out it stops the noise. Continue hearing noise every time clutch is pushed in. Get to destination, turn car off, take key out as usual but when I return to car the A/C blower is on without the key even in. Try putting key in and it does go in but, won't turn forward. Turn it back toward lock position and it trys to start but, will not start. Clutch? Ignition? Both?

Sounds like a throwout bearing issue and a faulty ignition switch.

In other words: 2 separate problems. It's a coincidence you noticed the bearing noise on the same day you had possible ignition switch problems.

FYI, I haven't read of this happening to any Aveo owners yet, but my dad's 2004 Camry ignition key is so worn that he can mistakenly remove it from the car without first turning it all the way to "OFF". This will leave some accessories (like the AC/heater blower) with power.
