2009 Pontiac Wave Air conditioning testing

Hi Guys, I just bought this car and was driving it home from the used car lot and decided to kick the a/c on as I thought I was fogging the inside glass and it appears as though the A/C isn't kicking in.

I checked the 10amp fuse, and it tests okay (continuity).

From here I am a bit foggy for more testing steps. I have gas in the system: I am going to check pressures tomorrow in the day time, but what values on the low/high should I be seeing?

Is there an outside ambient temperature sensor that restricts operation of the A/C?
Weather here is about 10C/50F - will this prohibit the system from activating? (I have analog controls in the passenger compartment if this is of any value)

I plan on testing the clutch/power wires tomorrow once I get it off the ground - anything else I should check?

Did a quick test of the system with my brother helping.
It does kick on, showing 50 when it is off, and 30 when the compressor on.

Is this normal operation?
