Hey Guys,
I bought a new filter from gm and went to replace it. I took the metal bar out.... but the dash plastic went all the way across (once the bar was removed). Then I tried to remove the filter cover and there isnt one! The whole box looks like 1 molded/sealed piece.. Can i not replace it?

you might bave to drop the whole section, i myself have not done this..
the 2009+ has a different dash, so it might be a different filter/set up as well?
I have a 2004 and had the same problem. I just cut the plastic bar off - It has no structural purpose, and was removed in future models. Just cut it where the metal ends.
If you need a pic of what I did let me know.
Do not know why they put it back into the 2011 :/
Air conditioner filters shouldn't be hard to change. Too bad there isn't an easy way to get to (most) of them. My old car didn't have one, which was nice not having to worry about changing it.
