2011 Yellow Airbag near clock always on?

Is this normal behavior? The airbage light above my clock module near the windshield always stays on. It correctly indicates the airbag on/off condition reflecting if someone is in the seat or not, but having that bright yellow "Passenger Airbag is On (or Off) constantly beaming above the green digits of the clock is annoying as hell! I thought it was supposed to come on briefly after starting the car and then go off after a few secons...am I wrong?

No, this it not normal. According to your vehicle's Owner's Manual, your airbag light should turn off after you start your vehicle. If the airbag light stays on something is not working properly. I would suggest you contact the dealership and inform them of the issue you are having and they will advise you accordingly. Please refer to page 5-12 Instruments and Controls in your Owner's Manual and review the Airbag Readiness Light information.

Hopefully the dealership's service department will be able to fix. Look forward to hearing back from you.

Vanessa, I think he is talking about the Passenger Airbag Readiness Indicator in the Clock Pod, and NOT the Airbag Readiness Light in the Instrument Cluster.

from what I gather from the OP, he is annoyed by the Backlighting of the indicator at night. if he thinks THAT is bad, just wait until he puts on the Hi Beams: the LED in the cluster is SUPER Bright, and can Overpower all of the other Illumination!

i don't think its annoying either, but like I said, the Hi Beam Indicator in my car is SUPER Bright (Since its an LED) and can sometimes overpower the rest of the Illumination!

I just open the clock up put black electric tape on the yellow led that takes care of it .Because I do not have any one less than 40 LBS sitting in the frt pass seat.LoL if you put 40LBS in that seat it goes off It's for kid's safety. You cansee on my Cardomain page.
