airbag fuse location?

Hi All!
I am new here on this forum and I have to say it is a delight to see that there is such an active forum devoted to the car I just bought. So recently I bought a chevrolet aveo hatchback from 2010. The airbag light is on and the seller told me to replace a fuse, pointing at the fuse box in the instrument panel, to fix it. Not a big issue I thought. However I read the manual and as far as I can see there is no 'airbag fuse' in any of the two fuse boxes in the car.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Is there a fuse on the airbag module itself somewhere?

You won’t find a fuse. The airbags run through the BCM. Airbag diagnosis is tricky and requires high end auto shop equipment. If your horn does not work as it should, I would look into replacing the steering wheel clock spring. If you have both problems, they usually point to this part.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried the horn (both left and right button) and it works fine. I ordered a simple obd2 scanner to diagnose the problem. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Don’t go too cheap on the scanner. Bottom shelf units won’t even rear airbag, medium shelf may reset the light. Top shelf bidirectional scanners can read errors, and test circuits, and pinpoint problems.

Okay. Is that also true for bluetooth obd2 devices? Or does it depend on the software you are using then?
I was looking into Bluedriver or Fixd but I cannot find a local re-seller for those.

The cheapest tool that i know works bidirectionally with airbags for your Aveo is the Chinese knock off of the GM shop scanner TECH II

hi folks. I got the scanner now, from icarsoft, so not the bluedriver. The error codes i got from it are B1452, not in library, and B1382, RF side deployment loop resistance above treshhold.
So yeah, if the electrical resistance is too high that could mean an open contact in a connector of the airbbag (sensor); loose connection, i read that here before. I found the yellow cables under the seat but haven't figured out what to do with it. I'll continue tomorrow and keep you updated. Thanks for your help.

The yellow cables under the PS sear coming unplugged is a known problem. Make sure it’s fully plugged together.

Hi. update on the issue.

Looking at the way the two cables were attached together it looks like a pretty recent fix. With a foam tube and tie wraps. So i used my scanner to clear the error message and it stays clear :)

I think the previous owner didn't understand what the garage told him after they fixed it. He thought a fuse need to be reset when instead the error needed to be reset. The garage couldn't do it because they didn't have the appropriate scanner. Understandable because chevrolet cars are rare here. Glad I got my own scanner now for such issues.
