Airbag light on

Hello,

I had suddenly the airbag light on, without having any accident or anything. my 2008 aveo has 115000m.

I was wondering if I remove the front seat buckle and replace it with the passenger seat one, to see if the light goes away, would that work?
is there an easier way to check if it is the front seat belt that has a problem?

Likely not the seat belt. iirc, the plugs under the seat are typically at fault. But unless you are comfortable messing with airbags (a mistake oil blow up in your face, literally), I would leave it to someone comfortable with this.

If you are willing to check it on your own, then unhook the battery and inspect the connections under both seats.

ok thanks, I tried to unplug clean and replug, it did not go out. I will take it to a shop for a diagnostic.
