      Airbag Light & DRL

I have an 04 and my airbag light turn on randomly. Usually when I start the car the light is off, but after driving the airbag light comes on and the DRL lights go off.

Also, my horn doesn't work. I did remove the actual horn to see if it was the issue, but upon testing the horn does work when connected directly to the battery. Oh, and the low fuel light doesn't turn on, but the bulb works.

I asked one of my buddies, and he suggested it may be a clock-spring that is bad.

Does anyone know if all these issues would attribute to a bad clock-spring?

      Thanks in advance.

The non-working horn and airbag light points to the clock-spring. Those 2 systems share that common point. Can you turn on your headlights when the DRLs kick off? If not, almost definitely the clock-spring.

I agree bad clock spring. Disconnect the battery. Pull off the front cover holding the airbag. Use a multimeter and test those conductors to ground. I might be simple clean fix.
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

Headlights work, no issues there even when DRL turn off. Engine was replaced by prev owner due to timing belt. Horn never works regardless if airbag on/off.

Should I just test for continuity? Than replace clock-spring if found bad or can the old one be salvaged?

Follow the white rabbit as about the best advice you're going to get. Like Alice you need to chase out the circuit and checking continuity is the first step.

The horn is triggered by a relay. So check the relay and make sure it's NOT working. Then that starts pointing towards the clock spring. Notice on the schematic the switch turns on/off ground. That is why I suggested checking to ground.
