So, first off this thing has been a colossal pain in the ass, but my brother needed a cheap delivery car for JJ's.
He pulled it into the garage 2 weeks ago Friday to replace the lower control arms, and after they'd been replaced, the damn thing wont start.
The issue: Wont start(obviously).
Symptoms: When you turn the key forward to start it, you get no starter click, no fuel pump whine, no dash lights, no chime with the door open, nothing. While the key is on, there is no HVAC, no radio either. Accessory position doesn't yield anything different either. HOWEVER, you can lock/unlock, with the door and key, exterior lights turn on and off, dome and courtesy lights work, and when the door is open, it shows the door ajar light in the dash.
What I've checked:
-Starter is good, jumped the connection under the starter relay and the engine cranked.
-Battery is less than 3 months old. Tried jumping it anyway, just for giggles.
-Pulled the ignition cylinder, and tried to crank it over with a screwdriver, no luck
-Tried a new battery in the key, tried both keys
-All fuses in the fuse boxes are good, as well as the main one.
-New terminal connector on the positive, that one was rotted away. Cleaned up negative post as well.
-Tried swapping starter relay
What's been replaced in the last 6 months:
-Waterpump/thrermostat
-Battery
-Engine harness
-Ignition coils
-Struts/springs
-Tires
-Control arms
-too much other crap to list
Once again, pulled the car in to the garage, replaced control arms, 2 days later, it's like it doesn't recognize that the key is turned on.
Thanks in advance!
