      Broken Door Handle, HELP?

Yeah I got into my aveo the other day and I try to get out and I broke the door handle mechanism that opens the door, is there a way to fix it? or I should ask can this be user maintenance-d? or do i have to take it to a dealer? I really don't want to do that. Do I have to replace the handle or the whole panel?

Same thing happened to me, I just opened up the door panel and found the bolt or nut (cant remember) and put it back on and added some loc-tite. Simple job!

Never mind, I found the part at the dealer but its $49.50 which is rediculous and I'll probably go to a salvage yard or look on the internet.

Oh wow, now that I see this picture this is not the same case as I had. My outter handle broke off but it was just a bolt that came loose. Sorry!

Thank you for your post and sorry that happened to you. I would need the last 8 digits of your VIN# Not sure what year your Aveo. If you like, I can check your VIN# to see if you may be covered under warranty. The handle may have been a defective part. Your dealership could determine that.

My car has a salvaged title, but you should pass the word up to GM that they need to really do some quality control on your Asian m
      ade part.
