Three of the four interior door handles on our 2006 aveo had the same thing happen. Simply opening the door caused a breakage and the parts/labor to repair is astronomical. A higher quality stock handle or a less expensive replacement part would be a strong recommendation.

they are available for less than $15 shipped off ebay.
i know this seems to be a common problem with the extreme temps, so i would probably inspect where the crack occurred and fill /reinforce that area with an epoxy.
Did you already pay to have it fixed? Its not an EASY first DIY repair, but if you can figure out how to do spark plugs or something similar you will figure out this pretty quick, and only the first one will seem hard.

also part of the astronomical cost at the dealer (probably) is that the handles are painted, and they are probably charging you $50 a handle for the replacement part, then another amount on top of that to paint them. when i worked at the dealer i could demand as much as an hour to paint a single handle (time for mixing paint etc). so i imagine they are charging you about 2 hours labor for paint, and probably at least an hour per door to put them in. Thats 5-6 hours labor at what ever your dealer chargers.plus the $150+ for the parts.
imho if it is a budget issue, then buy four textured handles off ebay, do all 4 doors and they wont need painted. Then at $15 shipped a piece, would will still be matching, acceptable repaired for about $60.
