Car Cranks but wont start after dead battery - immobiliser?

      Hi Guys and Gals,

I have Chevrolet Kalos (Aveo in the states I think) 2008 1.4se

Like an idiot I left my keys in the ignition for 2 days, this caused the battery to die.
So I charge the battery up. Now it cranks but wont turn over. Could it be the immobiliser stopping it form working? It worked fine before.
When I put the keys in ignition the the alarm light on the dash flashes quickly, I don't think it used to before?!

I've tried disconnecting battery, leaving key in ignition but still no luck!!
      Any ideas guys?

Shall I buy a diagnostic machine for £20 see if it is the spark plugs or fuel pump? But I guess this would be a coniscident if it was, as it worked fine before the battery drain.

I have also tried disconnecting the battery for an hour and reconnecting it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hell, I'll even send you a hamper to say thanks if you get it working

Is it possible you overcharged the battery, and perhaps damaged something? In any case, did you check the fuses and relays?

Hey, I did not know overcharging was a thing!

      How would I check this?

I pulled out all the fuses and all the metal bits seem in tact, so I think they are all fine. As for the relays, is there an easy way to tell?

I have put a multimeter on the battery and it reads 12.4V and does not drop below 10V when cranking

      The battery is fine.

Perhaps what you mentioned about the immobilizer is correct, and it needs to be reset. There is usually some simple 'trick' to reset these things - on one other vehicle it's locking with the fob, and unlocking the driver's door with the key. Try calling a Chevy stealership and see if by some chance they know the manual reset procedure, and are willing to share it with you.
