Car won't start after fueling it up?

Hi, I have a 2009 Chevy Aveo5 LT - every time I fill it up with gas I have to push the gas peddle to the floor and time it right or it floods and won't start. I think it is the fuel filter, I bought a new filter and now I can not find where to install it. Youtubers say its in front of the passenger rear tire by the tank and I have even seen pics of this but I still can not locate it on my car? Please help me find the fuel filter

      Thanks,

      Aveofun

I believe all the US models have the fuel filter in the tank as part of the fuel pump assembly. I'm wondering if there is an issue with your EVAP system...

I believe all models of the Aveo even the Australian delivered Barina's (I have a 2010 and know for a fact) the fuel filter is in the fuel tank.

That said Eric O at South Main Auto recently did a video on a Ford that had the same issue and he mentions at the beginning that it's a pretty common problem across a lot of manufacturers, everything with a purge valve. The video is https://youtu.be/QMIFj9WLTWc

I buy from Costco only. Unless out of town then it's which ever gas station available. The fact is it doesn't matter where I gas up I get the same result.

Think my reply was removed... My Mazda did this. Any check engine light?
It's the evap system. If the purge valve is stuck open a full tank of gas puts a lot of vapor in intake so you need to floor it to get more air. A cheap fix is to just disconnect the hose and plug the hole on the intake with a rubber plug. The vapors escape to the atmosphere though so probably should get ya a new evap purge solenoid

Its a fly by wire throttle so I gotta say I am confused here.. there must be something with the fuel to air ratio.. the evap ... I used to get P0455 P0498 all the time but never experienced this particular issue.. no idea

but just for thoughts .. bad gas.. only if you run her all the way down to 1/10th of a tank you know when that orange light goes off and you are going up a long hill.

Evap system, someone expert has to explain this to us.
