hello, new guy here, miniowner92 (i've a 1992 classic mini), , and most recently a 2004 aveo ls automatic. would like to pull on a little of your expertise; i have NO check engine light, malfunction indicator lamp, whatever you call it. doesn't illuminate as you key on, doesn't light when you have a malfunction, just doesn't work. could this bulb be burnt out? tried to 'ohm' it from the backside, but i think it's an led, and i've had no luck w/it. any other way to check it? would love to have it for its intended purpose. any help much appreciated. also, are the stereo code #'s anywhere else but the owners manual? it has long since been missing. thanx.

There have been several reports of the CEL not functioning. The only remedy is to install another unit from a junkyard, or eBay, etc.
if you do a search of radio codes on the site, you will find a list that you can use and hopefully activate your radio.

i couldn't get the cd/mp3 player to energize at all. searching further on down the line i found the speaker wires just dangling in the trunk. could be the wires grounded and blew the output capacitors/transistors and fried the whole shebang. all the fuses i could find tested good.

Perfect time to put in a 2din head unit
you can spend any amount of money.
this one was $28 a few years ago. I think I paid more for the mounting and harness kit ��
connects to my phone and everything.

that looks nice; a little high tech for me, tho. it'll get something, and some new speakers, too. pretty nice for $28
