Central locking problem: locks and unlocks again

In fact my door cover is still off because I though somehow it could be the door lock actuator, so I wouldn't have to mount it and then unmount it again to replace the actuator. My next challenge is to find an actuator (I'm not sure if I can find any in the junkyard), but with a little bit of research I think I'll get one.

However, replace it is not the easiest thing to do because it's in a very tight location and I can't see what I'm doing, perhaps the best thing to do is to ask my mechanic to replace it.

The limited access is the worst part of replacing the actuator, I agree. Otherwise it would be a fairly benign process. If you have a flexible inspection camera you could try that for help. Or try taking a picture with your phone if you can get a decent angle.

When I replaced mine, I was able to mostly orient myself via touch after using an inspection camera to see how it all connected.

Hello everyone, thanks for the suggestions! Apologies for the delay, but I had other issues to sort out at the time and put this on the back burner. I didn’t want to follow up without having something substantial to share. But today, I’ve got an update
I managed to find the actuator and I have it now (it arrived today). I’m not sure if I’ll be able to test it in the next few days, and I only have time to work on the cars over the weekend. Since my 2-year-old son (who is obsessed with the garage, cars, and tools) is always with me on those days, I doubt I’ll have the patience and focus needed to replace the part. So, I think I’ll speak to my mechanic to get him to replace it. Since the door panel is already removed, it’s just a matter of swapping the mechanism, and he can do that in no time.
I’ll update you once I’ve replaced and tested it

I've got news for you. My mechanic is a bit busy and couldn't work on my car until next week, BUT I had a couple hours alone today so I decided to give it a try.


Well, the actuator was actually easier to replace than I thought, it only requires a bit of patience and focus. Having the new part on the side helps to understand how all the things are connected


It took about 45 minutes to do all the work (the door panel was already removed) and now it works just fine!
