      Check Engine Light and OBDII

Well I got my first CEL after almost 48k miles, I'm taking it tomorrow to get oil and a filter and get the OBDII code read, where can I get this read at? Will Advance Auto or Autozone read these? Also where is the connector located?

Yeah AutoZone or Advance should read it for you for free. The connector is down and to the right of the steering column kind of hidden by the dash panel. You can only see it if you get on your knees outside of the car, looks like a serial port

Thanks I found it, got it checked at Advance, it seems to be an o2 sensor problem, they didn't have one in stock at Advance, how much are these usually?

First, you need to find out if it is the upstream sensor in the manifold or if it is the downstream sensor (after the catalytic converter). Generally they run about $40-60 and can be replaced very easily. If its the upstream sensor you are going to want to replace it ASAP as your ECM may be telling the engine to run rich (major decrease in mpg). If it is the downstream sensor just make sure you have it replaced before your next emissions inspection. It is only there to take measurements of emissions and will not harm your car if left although the CEL will remain on or keep coming back after you clear the code(s).

I didnt clear the codes but the CEL light went off, it will probably come back on though. I'm taking it to my dealer tomorrow to hopefully get it fixed under warranty, if not it will wait a few days.
