Re: Check Engine light P0441
i would try a better scanner, see if it will narrow down the code for you?
but that is lack of pressure in the gas vapor system somewhere. the purge valve in on the intake manifold, i would check it for vacuum, on both sides.
Re: Check Engine light P0441
Ok going to try another scanner and will check for solenoid tomorrow for vacuum. Girlfriend just got back from gas station and said that after putting gas it wont turn on have to push gas and hold it for it to stay running. After holding for awhile it stays running. Going to replace fuel filter maybe it clogged
Re: Check Engine light P0441
that sounds like it could be a sticking valve too.
let us know what you find, the pressure drop of the gas vapor system being opened to fill the gas tank could be more likely than the fuel filter, usually with a fuel filter the top end struggles first.
I would definitely check that valve sounds like the hose going to it is off or cracks creating a leak that is larger enough to keep it from running.. then the closed system finally built pressure enough to close the valve (depending on how it works) or the sticking valve finally closed therefore eliminating the leak.
but thats all speculation over the internet.
Re: Check Engine light P0441
Get someone else to scan it I can tell you for experience that I took my mom's Saturn to Wrongzone and they said the OBDII Was not functioning. Well to prove them wrong I took the scan tool and sure enough they didn't know how to work it. P0441 means Insufficient or excessive purge vapor flow detected in EVAP system. I Know because I have a book on all the most recent up to date codes for OBDII Systems 1996-2011.
Re: Check Engine light P0441
When I first got my aveo, it had a code for a small evap leak( I forget the number). After taking it to the dealership several times( and them replacing everything from the purge solenoid to the battery) without the problem being fixed, I smoke tested it at school and found that the evap line had been cut somehow. It was pretty obvious, which scares me that 9 times it got overlooked by the dealerships techs. But hey, I got a bunch of new parts for free!
Re: Check Engine light P0441
i read that aveos have cylinder head and valve problems,
i also read that it's a common thing with basic engines,
i ALSO read that if you keep driving with your "check engine" light, you could get in serious trouble.
I'd check with your local dealer, see if he can fix him up for ya.
Shouldn't be over 1300 $
