Chirping noise when starting car
For the past three years the Everytime I cranked the car in the morning it would make a chirping sound that goes away after it has been on the road. It first did this in 2007 when it was under warranty and the dealership couldn't find anything wrong with it. Does anybodies car does this as well?
Re: Chirping noise when starting car
How are your belts? Especially in cold weather, worn belts can sometimes slip and squeak a bit.
Re: Chirping noise when starting car
belt or belts
sep belt most likely, if you also get any water they will make these annyoing sounds
Re: Chirping noise when starting car
That's not the problem at all
Re: Chirping noise when starting car
describe it better, is it only on cranking the engine over? the first 15 minutes of driving? is it a metal chirp, rubber?
I was going to say sometimes starts can "chirp" if they aren't perfectly aligned to the starting gear, but you already make it sound like thats not the problem in your second sentence when it goes away after driving.. because it would keep chirping once the car is starting.
Re: Chirping noise when starting car
No wrong again it only does this when the car is cold it doesn't make it when starting it just does it when it is running.
Re: Chirping noise when starting car
thats why i said describe it more, your telling everyone they arent right, but your not providing enough info for a diagnosis, this isnt 20 questions.
Re: Chirping noise when starting car
Look it's just a noise I can't explain it only does this when the car is cold and goes away once the car is warmed up. I know of a person who has an 2008 Aveo and it does the same thing, We came to the realization that this is just apart of this car that no one can understand.
Re: Chirping noise when starting car
This is the point where a video of engine bay while this is happening would help. . .

daug1502 makes a good point. can you do a video to upload on youtube then post it here? I think that might be helpful and useful for other owners to be aware of.
