P2106 - Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Limited Power
P2110 - Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Limited RPM
Doesn't say much. But they had a ECM update TSB#06-06-04-050. Don't know what that means....
Anywho, just to let you guys know there is an update out there, at least for the 06.
I was really happy with the service too. They ajusted the linkage for the transmission, now is really easy to shift. Didn't even have to tell them. I hope I won't see that CEL again.

I work for GM, and at our dealership we had 4 aveos come in this week. 1 for wheel bearings, and 3 for ECU issues because of the cold weather. GM released a known issue in our computers for the Aveo and cold weather ECU problems. It is required to flash the ECU with the updated program which wil fix the problem. The problems have to do with recognizing sensors liek the TB while its below frezing causing misfired and throttle issues. 2 of the 3 we flashed, fried the ECU, and this also is a known issue. Of course we replaced the backordered ECU's for free. Evidentally this is a big issue seeing as GM had the ECUS in backorder. I have an 07, and have not run into any issues yet.
I went to an agency today, not the one I bought the car from, but a Pontiac dealer. I told them that I wanted them to check for the updates that you mentioned. I've had problems in cold weather starts. The guy checked in his computer and it said that there were no known issues/updates, etc... for the 06 Wave/Aveo. I haven't gotten any CEL.
I don't understand. I'm thinking that I should take what your you posted with me.
Re: Cold weather problems?
This is the third winter now in my 06 Aveo and I borrowed a code reader from a friend who works at a pontiac dealer.
finely today I reproduced the CEL for the 2nd time this winter and 4th time since buying the car in may 06.
I got the exact same 3 codes ontarian_frog got.
p1516
p2106
p2110
My friend talked to a tech about the codes and printed off a page from GM's knowledge base search results witch showed the TSB

It has been as low as -31c (without windchill) within the past 2 days here in Winnipeg MB. Canada.
The symptoms I experience are poor execration/RPM, sputtering or miss-firing and the engine shutting off. this has happened with and without the block heater being plugged in. another thing I THINK is related is the gas tank being less than half full because that has been the case every time while experiencing theses symptoms with the CEL. I tend to keep my tank toped up.
I have an appointment tommorw afternoon and am hoping to get an ECM update before my warrantee expires. I will post back with details.
Re: Cold weather problems?
you know i read this thread and i forgot all about last winter my idiot light came on but the car was functioning fine. took it in and they fixed it and were vague about what caused it, didnt really tell me **** actually. I bet this is what happened, interesting...

I waited 2 hours at the dealer for nothing, they did not even look at my car! I'm dropping it off monday afternoon and getting a rental while they look at it on tuesday. stay tuned.
