Daytime running lights will not turn off

I have a 2008 Aveo hatchback. My battery completely died after sitting for few days. I jumped it and used it with no problems, including starting the car again several times. After a few days of no use the battery was dead again.

I have noticed that when I turn off the car, the daytime running lights would only turn off after about a minute. Now they will not turn off at all, even though the car is turned off. I finally had to disconnect my battery as to not drain my battery again.

Does anyone know why the DRLs would not turn off when the car is off?

your relay is bad. its on the firewall in the foot well. replace it or just remove it.
