      Disabled oil pressure sending unit

I just noticed my oil pressure sending unit is not plugged in, which is rather odd since the oil pressure light comes on when I turn the key on and goes out a second or so later once started....it acts like it works but it isn't even connected anyone else with a 2009 model notice this ? Why didn't the ECM detect it was unplugged and why is the light going out ?
