door ajar

so heres a funny tid bit that i dont know how to fix.. my door ajar light comes on when the door opens.. and when i accelerate my car... its my drivers door i know this.. but past that i havent a damn clue how to fix it..

any ideas?

i havent taken the switch out but ive looked at the switch and pressed it and it seems to work fine?

But it should provide ground. So if it's shorting, light will be on.

Does the dome light have the same issue? If not maybe the lock sets the ajar light? I would need to refer to the wiring diagram.

no. well maybe, but if its the door switch turning the door ajar light on, it should also turn on the dome light?

The dome light uses the door trigger. If there is ground on the circuit it will turn on the door ajar light.
