I've had my 2007 Aveo5 Special Value since August and so far the car has been very good to me.
However, buying the car used, it wasn't until I drove the car a couple of months to notice all the small things wrong with it.
So far every fix has been cheap and straight forward, but I do have an issue that is confusing me as to how I could fix it.
As the title of the thread suggests, it's the driver door.
The issue is that when it rains, water seeps in and drips on my left leg while I drive. The heavier it rains, the more water that gets inside.
There's one thing however, it only seems to happen when I run the windshield wipers and I'm driving at highway speeds. Meaning that when I take the car to the car wash, or if it rains heavily over night, the interior of my car is dry. It's only when I drive and the wipers on, that's when the issue happens.
Ultimately, I feel it's one of two problems:
1: The door needs an adjusment.
2: The door is slightly bent outward, not creating a good seal at the top.
I'm steering away from adjustment, cause the gaps are pretty consistant all around the door and lines up with other panels just fine. Yet, if I sit in my car, I can easily slip a piece of paper up through the weather stripping on the driver side, but not on the passenger side.
Any ideas on what to do and to compare the "bend" of both driver and passenger doors?
